How to boil/cook white rice on the stove

Cooking white rice seems easy, but it turns out to be difficult when someone practices it. Even many of them fails. Like  the results of sticky rice, similar to porridge, too dry, even charred.

In order, to produce perfect result, both in terms of shape, taste and texture, there are some basic things that should get more attention if you want to boil rice on a stove. Because boiling rice using the stove is not as easy as using a rice cooker whose dosage is already included in the guidebook when you just bought the rice cooker.

Therefore, you should really practice rice cooking steps below for a perfect result and in order you can enjoy eating white rice with a sense of pride later.


How to boil rice on the stove

1. Take two glasses of rice

2. Rinse twice by clean water

3. Take a medium pot, and pour the rice into the pot

4. Flatten the rice surface

5. Touch your middle finger into the bottom of pot, and measure the depth starts from the bottom of the pot to the surface of the rice. If you have done it, it means you should also pour clean water as deep as that.

6. Put the pot on the stove, and turn of the fire

7. Let the pot open and wait until your rice boils

8. Place a wooden spatula across the pot to prevent the bubbles spreads out

9. Wait until the water shrinks and the bubbles shrink.

10. Stir the rice with a spatula stalk.

11. Lower the heat as small as possible and cover the pot

12. Allow up to about 15 minutes until the rice looks perfectly cooked.

13. Stir back so that the bottom of the rice is not solid.

14. Rice ready to serve
